Redevelopment of Silì open spaces

The project aims to completely redesign four urban green spaces, which are very different from one another, and which are either neglected or leftover spaces located within the Silì district. The project goal is to tackle their fragmentation by carrying out an urban reconnection process that will improve the quality of life.

The four target areas are located in the Silì district, to the east of the city of Oristano, and are arranged along the east-west axis, to the south of the Tirso River and the irrigation canal.

The project for the four areas listed below:

SV01 — Area Grande

Total area: 11,960 m²

Crushed stone paving: 2,354 m²
Permeable concrete paving: 1,012 m²
Shock-absorbing surface: 446 m²
New lawn: 6,888 m²
New trees: 65 units
New shrub planting area: 1,416 m²
Irrigated area: 8,304 m²

SV02 — PEEP area

Shock-absorbing surface: 108 m²

SV03 – Area via Martiri del Congo

Total area: 1,282 m²

SV04 – La Maddalena Park

Total area: 16,130 m²

The project is characterised by a uniform choice of paving and greenery that favours gravel, Mediterranean shrubs and native trees.

In terms of the design, attention has been given to the layout of the play equipment, the park furniture, the pergolas and the observation platform overlooking the river.
